PDF Editor is made possible by open-source software from other developers. We're grateful to the authors and maintainers whose work helps the app open, edit, and save PDF files. This page summarizes the main components and links to the license texts included with the app; the license texts themselves remain authoritative.

PDF rendering and editingTop

PDF.js

Pages are drawn, searched, and annotated by PDF.js, the PDF renderer maintained by Mozilla and its contributors, which also writes your annotations and filled-in form fields into the saved file. PDF Editor ships its own copy from its own site and runs it without WebAssembly. PDF.js is provided under the Apache License 2.0; the notice ships with the app as licenses/PDFJS-APACHE-NOTICE.txt.

pdf-lib

Page changes, page text such as watermarks and page numbers, passwords, and document properties are written into the saved file by pdf-lib (the @cantoo/pdf-lib fork), which runs in a background worker only while a save is prepared. pdf-lib is provided under the MIT License; the notice ships with the app as licenses/PDF-LIB-MIT-NOTICE.txt.

Roboto and Material Symbols Outlined

PDF Editor serves Roboto and an PDF Editor-specific subset of Material Symbols Outlined from its own site. These fonts are provided under the Apache License 2.0.

Visware software and contentTop

PDF Editor's application code, PDF adapters, product name and artwork, written content, and build and test code are Visware material unless a file or directory includes another notice.
